New Faith's History

Our Story: A Rich History of Faith and Growth

A church is more than a building — it’s a family of believers united in their love for Christ and desire to serve Him. New Faith Baptist Church began in 1993 with a small group of charter members meeting in a home. From that humble beginning, God has faithfully grown our congregation and our impact.

Early on, we shared space with a Nazarene church before being offered their building and land for $50,000. Soon after, a Baptist group offered us a new facility and two acres of land for $100,000 — far below their original asking price. This faithful step became the beginning of our permanent home. Though we started with few pews and some worn chairs, God has blessed our church with a cozy and welcoming space that continues to serve us well.

Pastoral Leadership

Pastor Bob Harper, our founding pastor, served faithfully from 1993 until retirement in 2014. After a brief transition, he returned one last time to shepherd the church before retiring due to health concerns. He continues to attend as he is able, remaining a cherished member of our church family.

During the 2014 pastoral search, retired pastors Rusty Orr and Bill Roberts graciously filled the pulpit. In December 2014, Pastor Gary Smith preached his first sermon and was called to full-time ministry in March 2015. Under his leadership, the church expanded, added a social hall, and remained mortgage-free.

Pastor Smith resigned in late 2018, and by January 6, 2019, Pastor Brandon Carter joined as the full-time lead pastor. His vision and energy brought revival — by Easter 2019, attendance had grown to over 100.

Continued Growth & Expansion

During COVID-19, New Faith adapted with Zoom, Facebook Live, and FM broadcasting to keep worship going. By April 2021, we resumed full services and began planning for expansion. In 2023, Sunday attendance averaged 90 and we had no parking spots left. After receiving a building permit in March, the church voted overwhelmingly in favor of building a new sanctuary.

On August 27, 2023, we broke ground on our new sanctuary with the rallying motto, “Follow In Faith!” Today, we continue building on our legacy of service, unity, and faith. Come join us for the next chapter in a church rich with history and full of hope for the future.
