Love, Joy, Peace...
What To Expect At Church
New Faith Baptist Church is a friendly church in Aledo. We understand visiting a new church can be intimidating and we want to be sure you feel fully welcomed when you join us. Here's what you can expect on your first Sunday.
What happens at a typical worship service?
When you enter you will receive a worship guide ('bulletin') that outlines the plan for that Sunday Worship. It will list songs we will sing, who is preaching, and any special elements planned for the day. A typical worship service begins with a time of welcome, offering, 3-5 worship songs, an engaging message based on the Bible, and an invitation to respond if you feel called.
How long is a typical worship service?
Worship services last about an hour, beginning at 11 and finishing by 12:15. Many like to stay and visit with others in the congregation afterwards, so feel free to arrive early or stay late if you are so inclined! On the third Sunday of each month we host a potluck meal immediately after service. All are welcome to eat, even if they have not brought a meal.
What should I wear?
You’re welcome to come in any clothes you feel comfortable in. You'll find members ranging from casual up to business casual. Occasionally our Pastor will wear a tie. We do ask that men remove their hats before entering the sanctuary
Where Do I Park and Enter?
Park anywhere in the paved or gravel parking lot. The easiest entrance is through the covered portico on the left side of the building. This leads to our welcome center where coffee is waiting for you, and provides easy access to our sanctuary and nursery/kids area.

Do you offer childcare during worship service?
For babies we have a nursery that is staffed by volunteers there to care for your kids. Each volunteer has been background checked and trained. We utilize a check-in system to be sure each kid is safe and taken care of. Kids are invited to depart after music to join Kids Church, where they will receive a Bible lesson geared towards their age group, and typically an activity or craft to reinforce the lesson.
Do you offer support for those with disabilities?
Our church campus is fully handicapped accessible, with a covered drive through portico to drop off next to the entry. If you have additional needs, ask one of the greeters or call the church office during the week.
Will I have to introduce myself?
We take a few minutes to allow church members to meet and mingle with each other, but don't worry! You won't be asked to stand up and introduce yourself. You will likely have church members who will say 'Hello' and introduce themselves to you during the meet and greet at the beginning of the service.
What's the music like?
Depending on the Sunday, our music features guitar, piano, and vocalists. Music choices range from classic old-time hymns to modern worship songs. View one of our service livestreams here to view more.

Do I have to sing?
We encourage everyone to stand and join us in worship of God, but singing is not mandatory.
Do I have to put money in the offering plate?
You don't have to give anything. Offering is a chance for us to return our treasures to God in recognition of how He provides for our need. If you do share a gift, you can be sure it will be used for God's work.
